Discipline, productivity and achieve life goals. Here is my step by step guide.
Everyone dreams, yet there is a considerable gap between having a dream and making it a reality, this gap will continue to grow as we have more responsibilities in life. Why? the main reason is lack of motivation, I mean, stay motivated and pursuing their dreams it can be hard some times.
But I got good news to help you bridge this gap, here are some of the steps I have found to be most helpful in being more disciplined, productive and achieving life goals:
Set specific and achievable goals that are aligned with your vision and values.
Lets take an example, if you want to look more muscular, don’t start with something big like seeing yourself as Henry Cavill in 6 months. Instead, start with simple tasks like going to the gym 3 times a week, consuming enough protein per day, and gradually reducing carbohydrates. I’m sure this approach you can start doing it without problems. My approach is simple, start small. Break down big tasks into smaller, achievable steps and track your progress. Additionally, taking regular breaks and giving yourself a mental break can help you come back feeling refreshed and motivated.
Track your process
I know is annoying, but how do you improve what you can’t measure? Use an app, software or if you are like me, use spreadsheets. Seeing progress and improvement can increase motivation and provide a sense of accomplishment and helps you to identify areas where changes or improvements can be made.
Change your mindset
Here is a quote you need to understand about being disciplined:
Discipline is doing what you have to do no matter how you feel.
That’s it, get used to it. It’s not romantic, but it’s more effective that daydreaming or making excuses because it creates a habit of taking action and leads to build a strong foundation for success.
Eliminate distractions
Minimize all distractions, turn off notifications from your phone or computer, or use do-not-disturb mode. Avoid browsing social media or other distracting websites while you’re trying to work. Use tools like website blockers or limit the amount of time you spend online. Let others know when you’re unavailable, and stick to your schedule as much as possible. This is important, don’t underestimate dedicated workspace for focused work.
Don’t forget reward yourself
This is the reason why many people fail, things like saving or working more hours can cause a lot of stress. That’s why small rewards are so important. Rewarding yourself for completing tasks and reaching goals is an important part of staying motivated and productive.
Finally, stay consistent
There will be days where you won’t be able to meet your daily goals, and that’s okay. Remember, it’s ok if you stumble along the way. The important thing here is to develop a daily routine and stick to it. That way, you can create a habit of taking action and make sure that your goals remain top of mind.
That’s it: Set achievable goals, track your progress, eliminate distractions, reward yourself and stay consistent. That’s how you can build discipline.
